Crafts & Events

In addition to the work I’ve done through projects at school, I love opportunities for crafting and event planning. I’ve done corporate event planning through work, but in addition to that I have planned some family events as well. My parents 50th anniversary party and several of my daughter’s birthday events were a lot of fun to plan! Below are some pictures of events and crafts.

My Parents’ 50th Anniversary party was a semi formal event. It was a lot of fun to plan and execute! In addition to the DJ and dinner, I created a PowerPoint presentation about their 50 years together. Family and friends flew in from all over for the event. We had a dinner, DJ, popcorn & candy bar, giveaways and a photographer to record the event. Everyone seemed to have a great time. I planned and coordinated the entire event including the venue, décor, entertainment, programs, catering, travel accommodations for out of town guests and more. I was honored and happy that my parents allowed me to plan this event for them.

One of key parts of the party were photos and memorabilia to celebrate my parents’ 50 years together. Above are closeups of some of the photo displays I made to place around the room. We made up programs to follow the digital presentation, and so that people could have a keepsake to remember the event. We also had large posters made for people to sign for my parents like a welcome book.

Star Wars!!!

We had a really fun time for my daughter’s Star Wars themed party. I found some large character balloons, foam light wands in red and blue, and of course Star Wars music in the background. I purchased supplies so the kids could decorate their own t-shirts and canvas bags. Of course the plates, napkins and cupcakes also matched the theme!

Polaroid Pictures

Mountains & Sea

My daughter recently introduced me to making these little pictures that are like little polaroids. She has made four, so far.

Polaroid Collection

My favorite of her pictures is the sailboat, but I also loved the creativity she showed with the lighthouse by using different mediums of color (paint, oil pastels, and pencil).

I really enjoyed making them - they are a quick craft and can be given as little gifts. (As a variation you can add magnets to the back, washi tape along the edges or just add some fun captions.)

Trees

I love trees so I did both of my little pictures with trees. I have named one “Sunset at Star Gazer’s Field” and the other is just called “Sunny Day”.

Crafting

Crafts, Crafts & More Crafts!

I love to craft. Above are photos of some things I have made over the years. During the pandemic I taught myself how to make reusable fabric masks, some are pictured above. Ribbon leis, fairy gardens, painting crafts, holiday ornaments and paper flowers are also shown in the examples above. (Crafting is especially fun with a partner - my daughter helped me with the fairy garden, the paper flowers and the Halloween decorations pictured above.)
